In May 2019, 45 girls have joined the Hummingbirds Retreat 2. HIVOS, under the WE4L program, has partnered in Lebanon with Global DreamWeb to execute this program. The Hummingbirds program is a leadership program for girls (age 12 to 16) with the aim to support the transformation of the girls of today into women leaders of tomorrow equipped with the mindset, the heart, the resilience and the skills needed to be responsible for themselves and their worlds in general in this complex 21st century.The girls had a few days full of exercises and activities. They raised awareness by activities such as meditations, painting in silence and expressing themselves by the “giving permission”-activity. As an example: I give myself permission to be different, angry, to take space etc.
